FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

  • Can the Premium Line high-speed cutters use CIP files from the prepress stage?

Every Premium Line TS machine includes a basic converter for converting CIP files into a corresponding cutting program. Files with the “ppf” or “jdf” extensions from the prepress stage are supported. This CIP converter converts the geometric data into a cutting program for the cutting machine.

However, more complex impositions require an advanced CIP converter, which is available for a fee. A basic requirement is that the prepress imposition program provides the commands* for the cutting machine. All Premium-Line machines come with a patch cable and connector to integrate the machine into the network.

    * We can test the files to verify that they contain the necessary commands.

  • Does Perfecta have a system for handling technical inquiries?

For complex technical inquiries, a customer service representative creates a service case. The resolution of the technical issue is then documented within this case. This ensures that even difficult cases can be brought to a successful conclusion.

In such cases, the customer receives a service case number, and the case can be continued at a later time by another customer service representative simply by providing the service case number.

  • How often must safety inspections be performed on our high-speed cutter?

No later than 5 years after a new flat-bed cutter is installed, a safety inspection must be performed on the machine in accordance with TRBS (Technical Rules for Operational Safety).

The inspection interval for machines that meet the current safety standard is every 5 years. However, we recommend a follow-up inspection every 3 years.

The inspection must be performed by trained personnel (see list of trained technicians). The technician will affix an inspection sticker to the machine indicating the next inspection date and provide the customer with an inspection report. If safety defects are found and are not rectified during the acceptance inspection, the sticker and the inspection report must not be handed over at that time.

  • Is it possible to repair parts to save costs?

Expensive electronic assemblies can be repaired within certain limits, and as a result, they are significantly less expensive than a new assembly or circuit board.

To do so, please fill out the PERFECTA Return Form, check the “Request for Repair” box under “Processing,” and send it to the appropriate representative.

If an identical repaired part is in stock, it can be shipped immediately with a deposit* charged. For electronic assemblies that are more than 10 years old, repair is generally no longer cost-effective. Please always observe the customs regulations of your country.

    * Once the defective part is returned, a credit will be issued for the deposit.
